Darren Rowse, A blogger and owner of ProBlogger uses a PowerMac G5 and 23” Apple Cinema Display on his desk, and a PowerBook for when he’s on the road and around the home. He feel’s this works quite well for him as he likes using two machines, and he utilizes the power of the PowerMac while editing images for his photography hobby.
Paul Stamatiou uses a MacBook for his blogging, he liked it because it's the lightest weight Apple laptop, still packs the punch of the Macbook Pro, iMac, etc, and it looks sleek.
From the research I have done bloggers generally prefer having a portable machine so they can work away from home, or take it to a cafe for a change of scenery, which can be very important in blogging. Many also have a large display to hook the portable up to at home for extra screen resolution to increase work productivity.
