Selecting new interior furnitures

Our family room has an old corner table and i was thinking of buying a new corner table. It is very old and has a very poor design. I have read that the quality of the interior furniture that you place within your home. The higher the quality of the item, the better the piece is for an investment. Which is really the right thing to do. I'd rather buy a quality corner table than maintaining a low value piece of furniture like we had in our home.
