Defense officials said the Song-class diesel-powered attack submarine tailed the USS Kitty Hawk undetected, surfacing within five miles of the aircraft carrier Oct. 26 before being spotted during surveillance flights. The sub reportedly followed the aircraft carrier battle group, surfacing within range of its missiles and torpedoes.
Would you believe such news as this? It is really impossible that the chinese subs can submerge undetected especially to an aircraft carrier battle group. Aircraft carriers are generally accompanied by a number of other ships, to provide protection for the relatively unwieldy carrier, to carry supplies, and to provide additional offensive capabilities. And I believe the group is accompanied by two or more submarines. I really doubt that chinese submarines can tail the carrier group undetected.
