Lorrize Mae was born seven years ago. Lorrize Mae was chosen by the Population Commission (Popcom), the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) and the United Nations Population Fund, as the Philippine representative for the six billionth baby, a symbolic way of marking the global population milestone. Her parents received a P50,000 cash gift, from which they set aside a certain amount to cover Lorrize Mae’s educational insurance.
On Oct. 12, Lorrize Mae gets a special birthday, she celebrated her seventh birthday with her parents, sisters, friends and neighbors with a party complete with balloons, a birthday cake, toys, gifts and games. The party was held at the CWC offices in Quezon City and organized by CWC and Popcom.
